Michael Wood

Michael Wood was born in Manchester and educated at Manchester Grammar School and Oriel College, Oxford, where he did post-graduate research in Anglo-Saxon history.  Since then he has worked as a journalist, broadcaster and film maker.  He is the author of many books and articles including In Search of the Dark Ages (also published by Penguin/BBC Books), and of over fifty documentary films for four British TV channels.  Among his most recent films are 'Legacy' and 'Saddam's Killing Fields', an account of the destruction of the Marsh Arabs of South Iraq.
